Multi-core fiber undersea transmission systems
2017 European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC), 2017Various potential architectures of branching units for multi-core fiber undersea transmission systems are presented. It is also investigated how different architectures of branching unit influence the number of fibers and those of inline components.

This chapter discusses multicore architectures for DSP applications. We briefly explain the main challenges involved in future processor designs, justifying the need for thread level parallelism exploration, since instruction-level parallelism is becoming increasingly difficult and unfeasible to explore given a limited power budget.

Towards multi-core expert system
2012 2nd International Conference on Consumer Electronics, Communications and Networks (CECNet), 2012There is growing interest in integrating rule based reasoning with other resolution paradigm, including constraint programming. This paper proposes three hybrid techniques which reinforce standard reasoning technique of rule based system with constraint satisfaction techniques.

Futex Scaling for Multi-core Systems
Applicative 2016 on - Applicative 2016, 2016The Linux kernel provides futexes as building blocks for creating userspace synchronization primitives. The main advantage, over more traditional schemes, such as sysv ipc, is that futexes are extremely fast in uncontended scenarios, avoiding any interaction with the kernel.

A multi-core or multi-fiber WDM System
2012 International Conference on Optical Engineering (ICOE), 2012Abstract A multi-core or multi-fiber architecture with interleaver at the fiber input and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) demultiplexer at the fiber output is proposed. In this architecture, different channels of a WDM system are interleaved into different cores of a multi-core fiber, and therefore, the inter-channel nonlinear impairments are ...

Multi-core/tile Polymorphous Computing systems
2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology, 2008Polymorphous computing systems have been introduced in multi-core/tile architectures as a result of the DARPA Polymorphous Computing Architectures (PCA) program. We will review the state-of-the-art in multi-core systems, first by reviewing the PCA developed systems, and secondly by reviewing recently announced multi-core chips.

Resource Depedency Analysis in Multi-Core Systems
2020 IEEE 44th Annual Computers, Software, and Applications Conference (COMPSAC), 2020In this paper, we evaluate different methods for statistical determination of application resource dependency in multi-core systems. We measure the performance counters of an application during run-time and create a system resource usage profile. We then use the resource profile to evaluate the application dependency on the specific resource.

Seeded region growing on multi-core system
2014 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), 2014This paper presents an implementation of seeded region growing (SRG) algorithm on multi-core system to achieve real time constraint with high precision. The proposed implementation has dynamic load balancing feature inherently and shows a speedup of 13.3 times with 16 cores.
