Multi‐drug antimicrobial resistance model

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2020
In this paper, we give a simple mathematical model for a multi‐drug antimicrobial resistance. The model describes the dynamics of the susceptible and three classes of infected populations. The first class of the infected society is sensitive to the first antimicrobial drug but resisted to the second drug.

Facing multi-drug resistant tuberculosis

Pulmonary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 2015
Multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains resistant to at least two of the most effective anti-tuberculosis drugs (i.e., isoniazid and rifampicin). Therapeutic regimens based on second- and third-line anti-tuberculosis medicines showed poor efficacy, safety, and tolerability profiles.

Multi-Drug Resistant and Extensively-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2020
India is one of the high burden countries for tuberculosis (TB) including multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB) and extensively-drug resistant (XDR) TB. Drug-resistant (DR) TB has threatened the TB care and is a major health problem in many countries; treatment of DR TB has been difficult requiring use of reserve or second-line drugs, cost factors, has ...

Multi‐drug resistant tuberculosis in migrants

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Medicine, 1991
Abstract Between 1986 and 1989 three Vietnamese migrants presented at the Perth Chest Clinic with multiple‐drug resistant tuberculosis of the lungs. This resistance was to both rifampicin and isoniazid in addition to other antituberculous drugs. Although all three had a long history of past intermittent treatment for tuberculosis and extensive active ...
