Stakeholder Specific Multi-Scale Spatial Representation of Urban Building-Stocks

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2018
Urban building-stocks use a significant amount of resources and energy. At the same time, they have a large potential for energy efficiency measures (EEM).

Overcomplete Multi-scale Dictionaries for Efficient Representation of ECG Signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The electrocardiogram (ECG) was the ?rst biomedical signal where digital signal processing techniques were extensively applied. The ECG is a sparse signal, composed of relevant activations, periods of inactivity, noise and interferences. In this work, we describe an efficient method to construct overcomplete and multi-scale dictionaries for sparse ECG ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Spectral Analysis of Multi-dimensional Self-similar Markov Processes

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we consider a discrete scale invariant (DSI) process $\{X(t), t\in {\bf R^+}\}$ with scale $l>1$. We consider to have some fix number of observations in every scale, say $T$, and to get our samples at discrete points $\alpha^k, k\in {\bf W}$

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Improved line/edge detection and visual reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Lines and edges provide important information for object categorization and recognition. In addition, one brightness model is based on a symbolic interpretation of the cortical multi-scale line/edge representation.

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1392-1397, June 2026.
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

Cartographic Generalization of Islands Using Remote Sensing Images for Multiscale Representation

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The multi-scale representation of remote sensing images provides various levels of image information crucial for decision-making in GIS applications and plays a significant role in information processing, data analysis, and geographic modeling ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Continued Fraction Representation of Temporal Multi Scaling in Turbulence

open access: yes, 1998
It was shown recently that the anomalous scaling of simultaneous correlation functions in turbulence is intimately related to the breaking of temporal scale invariance, which is equivalent to the appearance of infinitely many times scales in the time ...
