Multi-soliton and rogue wave solutions and their interaction: Insights into nonlinear dynamics in integrable systems

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
Solitons are essential in order to understand integrable systems and solve nonlinear evolution equations. They maintain signal integrity in the optical fiber and represent localized waves in plasma, paying significantly to plasma behavior management in ...

Stability of KdV Solitons on the Half‐Line: A Study for Nonhomogeneous Boundary Conditions

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 156, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We study the orbital stability and asymptotic stability problems for KdV solitons on the right half‐line for nonhomogeneous boundary conditions in the energy space H1(R+)$H^1(\mathbb {R}^+)$. This paper improves the results of Cavalcante and Muñoz [Revista Matemática Iberoamericana 35, no. 6 (2019); and SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis 55,

Bäcklund transformations for noncommutative anti-self-dual Yang-Mills equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present Bäcklund transformations for the non-commutative anti-self-dual Yang–Mills equations where the gauge group is G = GL(2) and use it to generate a series of exact solutions from a simple seed solution.

Nested Multi-Soliton Solutions with Arbitrary Hopf Index

open access: yes, 2004
Generalized Aratyn-Ferreira-Zimerman O(3) nonlinear sigma model with a particular symmetry breaking term, so-called dielectric function, is discussed. Static multi-soliton configurations with finite energy and nontrivial Hopf index are found. We show that such configurations consist of nested toroidal solitons.

Darboux transformation and multi-soliton solutions of the discrete sine-Gordon equation

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, 2020
AbstractWe study the discrete Darboux transformation and construct multi-soliton solutions in terms of the ratio of determinants for the integrable discrete sine-Gordon equation. We also calculate explicit expressions of single-, double-, triple-, and quadruple-soliton solutions as well as single- and double-breather solutions of the discrete sine ...

Large Drifter Experiment in the Western Mediterranean Sea Reveals Dynamical Versus Noise Contributions in SWOT‐KaRIn Sea Level

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract The wide‐swath altimeter Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) provides unprecedented two‐dimensional sea‐level observations, whose ability to capture upper‐ocean dynamics requires assessment. The dynamically balanced signal and noise contributions in SWOT‐KaRIn Level‐3 (L3) sea level products are here originally quantified and contrasted ...

Notes on exact multi-soliton solutions of noncommutative integrable hierarchies

open access: yes, 2020
We study exact multi-soliton solutions of integrable hierarchies on noncommutative spacetimes which are represented in terms of quasi-determinants of Wronski matrices by Etingof, Gelfand and Retakh. We analyze the asymptotic behavior of the multi-soliton

The breather-type and periodic-type soliton solutions for the (2+1 )-dimensional breaking soliton equation

open access: yes, 2011
Exact breather-type and periodic-type soliton solutions including the double-breather-type soliton solutions, the breather-type periodic soliton solutions and breather-type two-soliton solutions, and the periodic-type two-soliton and three-soliton ...

On the Peculiar Properties of Extremely Low Frequency Lightning Generated Whistlers Detected at Low Earth Orbit Altitudes Close to the Magnetic Equator

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract Lightning strikes generate broadband electromagnetic signals. At Extremely Low Frequencies (ELF), these signals partly leak into the ionosphere and produce so‐called Lightning Generated (LG) whistlers that the Absolute Scalar Magnetometers on board the ESA Swarm satellites can detect.

The RP(^2) sigma and easy plane baby skyrme models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This thesis examines the behaviour of two new models exhibiting topological solitons. This analysis is predominantly numerical, but a limited collective coordinate approach is attempted where appropriate. In chapter 1 we review the field of solitons.
