Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Strengthened ENSO Amplitude Contributed to Regime Shift in the Hadley Circulation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Understanding the variability in the Hadley circulation (HC) changes is crucial for understanding ocean‐atmosphere interactions. In this study, the variability in the boreal winter HC in the last 4 decades is explored using multiple reanalyzes and model ...

Intercompartmental communication in senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Senescent cells experience structural changes in the plasma membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, lysosomes, nucleus, and cytoskeleton. These alterations disrupt crosstalk among cellular compartments, impairing vesicular trafficking, contact sites, and molecular flow.

A dual context-aware basecaller for nanopore direct RNA sequencing

open access: yesNature Communications
Nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS) offers distinct advantages for transcriptome analysis over the traditional high-throughput RNA sequencing methods by preserving native RNA modifications, eliminating polymerase chain reaction bias, and simplifying the

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Further developments in exact state reconstruction in deterministic digital control systems [PDF]

open access: yes
A more general version of the ideal state reconstructor for deterministic digital control systems previously developed is presented. In the original version, measurements prefiltered by a multi-input/multi-output moving-average (MA) process were utilized
