Multibeam adaptive array

open access: yes, 1988
To achieve adaptive multibeamforming to allow reconfiguration in SSW-TDMA satellite communications, a system for narrow band adaptive multibeamforming is described in this work. The signal processor allows an unconstrained array to form independent beams for the impinging directions without any prior knowledge of them.

HI Bright Galaxies in the Southern Zone of Avoidance

open access: yes, 2000
A blind survey for HI bright galaxies in the southern Zone of Avoidance, (212 deg < l < 36 deg; |b| < 5 deg), has been made with the 21 cm multibeam receiver on the Parkes 64 m radiotelescope. The survey, sensitive to normal spiral galaxies to a distance

Mapping in the Arctic Ocean in Support of a Potential Extended Continental Shelf [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Under Article 76 of The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS; U.N. 1997), coastal states may, under certain circumstances, gain sovereign rights over the resources of the seafloor and subsurface of “submerged extensions of their ...

Real-time Monitoring of Uncertainty due to Refraction in Multibeam Echo Sounding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A software toolkit has been developed to objectively monitor uncertainty due to refraction in multibeam echosounding, specifically mapping systems that employ underway sound speed profiling hardware.

Geometric and Radiometric Correction of Multibeam Backscatter Derived from Reson 8101 Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A common by-product of multibeam surveys is a measure of the backscattered acoustic intensity from the seafloor. These data are of immense interest to geologists and geoscientists since maps of the acoustic backscatter strength can be used to infer ...
