Comprehensive genetic and epigenetic characterization of Lynch‐like syndrome patients

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 157, Issue 4, Page 788-799, 15 August 2025.
What's new? Lynch‐like syndrome is associated with development of colorectal cancer (CRC) with microsatellite instability and loss of expression of certain mismatch repair (MMR) genes, similar to Lynch syndrome, but unlike Lynch syndrome, the genetic cause of Lynch‐like syndrome (LLS) remains unknown.

Rapid changes in transcription profiles of the Plasmodium yoelii yir multigene family in clonal populations: lack of epigenetic memory?

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2009
The pir multigene family, found in the genomes of Plasmodium vivax, P. knowlesi and the rodent malaria species, encode variant antigens that could be targets of the immune response.

Two New Species of Ochotona (Mammalia, Lagomorpha) From Xizang, China

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2025.
During small mammals faunal surveys in Xizang conducted in 2003, 2023, and 2024, we collected two unidentifiable taxa of Ochotona. Phylogenetic analyses based on both mitochondrial and nuclear gene sequences resolve these specimens as distinct clusters within the O. macrotis and O. forresti species groups.

BRCA Mutation Testing in Men With Metastatic Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer: Practical Guidance for Australian Clinical Practice

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, Volume 21, Issue 4, Page 345-358, August 2025.
Molecular diagnostic testing identified mCRPC patients with BRCA mutations eligible for targeted therapies. Testing success is often contingent on the quality of tissue handling and laboratory processing techniques to minimize DNA degradation and suboptimal sequencing data quality.
