Physics‐Guided Neural Network for Quantitative Parameter Mapping Using Balanced Steady State Free Precession MRI

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 3, Page 1313-1322, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To propose a new method using a physics‐guided neural network for quantitative parameter mapping in balanced steady‐state free precession (bSSFP) imaging. Theory and Methods We trained physics‐guided neural networks with a multilayer perceptron using simulated bSSFP signals generated from tissue parameters (T1, T2,Meffc, ∆f and φRF ...

Reducing Motion Artifact in High Resolution 7 T MRI Using the Magnetic Resonance Minimal Motion (“MR‐MinMo”) Head Stabilization Device

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 3, Page 1486-1501, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate the effectiveness of the MR‐MinMo head stabilization device in mitigating motion artifacts during long‐duration, high‐resolution 7 T MRI scans, with and without retrospective motion correction Methods The MR‐MinMo was tested on seven pediatric and 12 adult healthy volunteers using 0.6 mm isotropic, 3D Multi‐Echo Gradient ...

3D MR Fingerprinting for Quantitative Bladder Wall T1, T2, and M0 Mapping in Healthy Subjects at 1.5 T and 3 T

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 9, September 2026.
Current diagnostic tests for lower urinary tract symptoms lack the ability to assess tissue‐level alterations in the bladder wall. This study introduces an approach for simultaneous high‐resolution 3D T1, T2, and proton density mapping of the bladder wall using magnetic resonance fingerprinting combined with a self‐supervised deep learning ...

High‐Resolution Imaging of Extracellular pH in Mouse Liver Tumor

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 9, September 2026.
High‐resolution imaging of extracellular pH (pHe) using 1H‐BIRDS with REduced Spherical Encoding with GAussian Weighting (RESEGAW) was achieved in an orthotopic mouse liver tumor (Hepa1–6) model and was validated with 31P MRSI using 3‐aminopropylphosphonate, showing excellent agreement between the two methods.

Natural Killer Cell Dysfunction Is Emerging During Midlife Obesity

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 9, September 2026.
Midlife obesity was associated with impaired NK cell function, including decreased degranulation and IFN‐γ production. The loss of NK cell function might explain the greater mortality risk in middle‐aged individuals, highlighting the importance of monitoring immune alterations during midlife.
