PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF FILTER BANK MULTI-CARRIER MODULATION IN MULTIPATH FADING CHANNELS

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Information & Communication Technology, 2021
Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) modulation is one of the most significant enablers for future 5G technologies. It is a modulation technique for resolving inter-carrier and inter-symbol interference using two possible methods: Frequency Spreading (FS ...

Channel-SLAM: multipath assisted positioning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In wireless propagation transmitted signals are reflected, scattered and diffracted by objects. Especially in urban canyons or inside buildings, the signal reaching the receiving antenna consists of multiple replicas of the transmitted signal, which are called multipath components.

Ultrafast Optoacoustics Reveals Intricate 3D Anisotropic Elasticity in Nanocrystalline Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultrafast optoacoustic spectroscopy combined with a Sagnac interferometer enables non‐contact, simultaneous characterization of thickness and the full three‐dimensional anisotropic elastic constants in freestanding nanocrystalline copper membranes. By capturing gigahertz Lamb waves and zero‐group‐velocity resonances followed by SAFE‐GA inversion, the ...

Hierarchical Modulation Classification with Channel-Type-Guided Blind Preprocessing for High-Order QAM in Multipath Fading Channels

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Automatic modulation classification (AMC) becomes challenging in multipath fading channels, particularly for high-order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals whose constellation points are strongly distorted by inter-symbol interference, phase ...

Single‐Sensor Vibration Sensing in Anisotropic Composites Enabled by Disordered Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work develops a single‐sensor vibration sensing (SSVS) framework that integrates disordered metasurfaces with compressive sensing. Comprehensive numerical and experimental validations demonstrate that, by manipulating anisotropic guided wave propagation through metasurfaces, the proposed SSVS framework enables high‐fidelity multi‐source vibration ...

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.
