Optimal generalized overmodulation for multiphase PMSM drives

Multiphase systems have the capability to achieve significantly higher drive voltages than what is possible with sinusoidal PWM or linear modulation/nth harmonic injection. However, overmodulation beyond that of the zero sequence yields large harmonic currents if not implemented properly.
