Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Estimating the Proportion of True Null Hypotheses for Multiple Comparisons

open access: yesCancer Informatics, 2008
Whole genome microarray investigations (e.g. differential expression, differential methylation, ChIP-Chip) provide opportunities to test millions of features in a genome.

Multiple Comparisons for a Psychophysical Test in Bootstrap Logistic Regression

open access: yesJournal of Algorithms & Computational Technology, 2014
We propose an algorithm of multiple comparisons with a control for a psychophysical test. Our algorithm is based on the step-down procedure and is applicable to the bootstrap test in logistic regression.

A note on the use of multiple comparison scenario techniques in education and practice

open access: yes, 2011
Our main aim in this paper is to highlight current practice and education in multiple scenario comparison within DES experimentation and to illustrate the possible benefits of employing false discovery rate (FDR) control as opposed to strict family-wise ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Bayesian Comparisons Between Representations [PDF]

open access: yes
peer reviewedWhich neural networks are similar is a fundamental question for both machine learning and neuroscience. Here, it is proposed to base comparisons on the predictive distributions of linear readouts from intermediate representations.

Effect of BG-12 on contrast-enhanced lesions in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis: subgroup analyses from the phase 2b study

open access: yes, 2011
Background: In a phase 2b study in patients with relapsing–remitting MS (RRMS), BG-12 240 mg three times daily significantly reduced the number of new gadolinium-enhanced (Gd+) lesions from weeks 12 to 24 (primary end point) by 69% compared with placebo.
