Paddy Crop and Weed Discrimination: A Multiple Classifier System Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, 2020
Weeds are unwanted plants that grow among crops. These weeds can significantly reduce the yield and quality of the farm output. Unfortunately, site-specific weed management is not followed in most of the cases. That is, instead of treating a field with a

MULTIPLE DISCRIMINANT ANALYSIS IN SOIL SURVEY

open access: yesJournal of Soil Science, 1974
Summary Multiple discriminant analysis can be used to distinguish to best advantage several multivariate, more or less polythetic, classes of soil. The method allows profiles to be allocated consistently and most appropriately to existing groups for which representatives have already been chosen.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Gender inequalities at the intersection of discriminatory mecha-nisms

open access: yesSfera Politicii, 2012
The text aims to present less visible facet of discrimination by identifying social and cultural mechanisms that generate and maintain multiple forms of discrimination, the intersection of which gender has a central position, because he combine with all ...

Racial discrimination and allostatic load among First Nations Australians: a nationally representative cross-sectional study

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2020
Background Increased allostatic load is linked with racial discrimination exposure, providing a mechanism for the biological embedding of racism as a psychosocial stressor.

Multiplicites of Dihedral Discriminants [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1992
Given the discriminant dk of a quadratic field k, the number of cyclic relative extensions N\k of fixed odd prime degree p with dihedral absolute Galois group of order 2p , which share a common conductor /, is called the multiplicity of the dihedral discriminant d^ = f2^p~^d^ .

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.
