The Exact Density of the Eigenvalues of the Wishart and Matrix-Variate Gamma and Beta Random Variables

open access: yesMathematics
The determination of the distributions of the eigenvalues associated with matrix-variate gamma and beta random variables of either type proves to be a challenging problem. Several of the approaches utilized so far yield unwieldy representations that, for

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

A note on the singular Sturm-Liouville problem with infinitely many solutions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2002
We consider the Sturm-Liouville nonlinear boundary-value problem $$ displaylines{ -u''(t) = a(t)f(u(t)), quad 0 < t < 1, cr alpha u(0) - eta u'(0) =0, quad gamma u(1) + delta u'(1) = 0, } $$ where $alpha$, $eta$, $gamma$, $delta geq 0$, $alpha gamma ...

Certain results associated with q-Agarwal fractional integral operators and a q-class of special functions

open access: yesArab Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences
This article investigates certain q-analogue of the fractional Agarwal integral operator and its application to a class of polynomials and a series of functions. By utilizing various types of q-Bessel functions, the fractional q-Agarwal integral has been

The Role of Gamma-Delta T Cells in Diseases of the Central Nervous System

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Gamma-delta (γδ) T cells are a subset of T cells that promote the inflammatory responses of lymphoid and myeloid lineages, and are especially vital to the initial inflammatory and immune responses.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Multiple sine, multiple elliptic gamma functions and rational cones

open access: yes, 2014
We define generalizations of the multiple elliptic gamma functions and the multiple sine functions, labelled by rational cones in $\mathbb{R}^r$. For $r=2,3$ we prove that the generalized multiple elliptic gamma functions enjoy a modular property determined by the cone.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
