Influence of multiple parameters on the crystallinity of dairy powders

open access: yesInternational Dairy Journal, 2023
Caking in powdered foods causes practical difficulties in solubilising the powder and interrupts the free flow from the container during manufacture and final use. This research investigated the caking tendency of cheese and milk powders stored at different relative humidity environment by low field, time domain 1H NMR, Magic Sandwich Echo sequence ...

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Seeing sense: developing multiple quality control parameters to assist in the interpretation and understanding of X-Band radar derived bathymetry [PDF]

open access: yes
Quantifying the dynamics of the shallow nearshore is key to creating complete sediment budget models required for developing effective shoreline management strategies (Holman et al., 2015; Kinsela et al., 2022), to protect coastal communities threatened ...

Energy supplementation as strategy of pasture management

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Animal Sciences, 2022
This study evaluated the effect of increased energy via supplementation on the performance, ingestive behavior, nutrient digestibility, and nitrogen metabolism of grazing heifers fed tropical forage in the rainy-dry transition season.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Multiple parameter estimation with quantized channel output [PDF]

open access: yes2010 International ITG Workshop on Smart Antennas (WSA), 2010
We present a general problem formulation for optimal parameter estimation based on quantized observations, with application to antenna array communication and processing (channel estimation, time-of-arrival (TOA) and direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation).

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
