Dual malignancy: Carcinoma of different cells in different organs
Incidence of multiple primary cancers, though uncommon, is being frequently reported nowadays, owing to better diagnostic techniques, the prolonged life span, and the increased incidence of long-term survival of cancer patients. In our case, lung mass in

Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Surgical Treatment of Synchronous Multiple Primary Lung Cancers: Experience of 92 Patients
Objectives: According to our previous study, the concurrent detection of p53 and epidermal growth factor receptor mutations significantly improves the clonality assessment and impact management of patients with multiple primary lung cancer. Nevertheless,

Deep sequence analysis of non-small cell lung cancer: Integrated analysis of gene expression, alternative splicing, and single nucleotide variations in lung adenocarcinomas with and without oncogenic KRAS mutations [PDF]
KRAS mutations are highly prevalent in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and tumors harboring these mutations tend to be aggressive and resistant to chemotherapy.

Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Intra-tumour signalling entropy determines clinical outcome in breast and lung cancer. [PDF]
The cancer stem cell hypothesis, that a small population of tumour cells are responsible for tumorigenesis and cancer progression, is becoming widely accepted and recent evidence has suggested a prognostic and predictive role for such cells. Intra-tumour

LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...
