MLKS2 is an ARM domain and F-actin-associated KASH protein that functions in stomatal complex development and meiotic chromosome segregation

open access: yesNucleus, 2019
The linker of nucleoskeleton and cytoskeleton (LINC) complex is an essential multi-protein structure spanning the eukaryotic nuclear envelope. The LINC complex functions to maintain nuclear architecture, positioning, and mobility, along with specialized ...

Optimal Identical Binary Quantizer Design for Distributed Estimation

open access: yes, 2012
We consider the design of identical one-bit probabilistic quantizers for distributed estimation in sensor networks. We assume the parameter-range to be finite and known and use the maximum Cram\'er-Rao Lower Bound (CRB) over the parameter-range as our ...

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

A Hybrid Nonlinear Whale Optimization Algorithm with Sine Cosine for Global Optimization

open access: yesBiomimetics
The whale optimization algorithm (WOA) is constructed on a whale’s bubble-net scavenging pattern and emulates encompassing prey, bubble-net devouring prey, and stochastic capturing for prey to establish the global optimal values.

An efficient multilevel image thresholding method based on improved heap-based optimizer

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Image segmentation is the process of separating pixels of an image into multiple classes, enabling the analysis of objects in the image. Multilevel thresholding (MTH) is a method used to perform this task, and the problem is to obtain an optimal ...

Hierarchical Temporal Representation in Linear Reservoir Computing

open access: yes, 2017
Recently, studies on deep Reservoir Computing (RC) highlighted the role of layering in deep recurrent neural networks (RNNs). In this paper, the use of linear recurrent units allows us to bring more evidence on the intrinsic hierarchical temporal ...

Division values of multiple sine functions

open access: yesKodai Mathematical Journal, 2009
We refine a formula on values of quadruple sine functions at division points. As applications we prove a formula on a sum of reciprocal trigonometric values, and obtain multiple modularity of a three variable modular function, which concerns a generalization of the Dedekind η function.

Multiple sine, multiple elliptic gamma functions and rational cones

open access: yes, 2014
We define generalizations of the multiple elliptic gamma functions and the multiple sine functions, labelled by rational cones in $\mathbb{R}^r$. For $r=2,3$ we prove that the generalized multiple elliptic gamma functions enjoy a modular property determined by the cone.

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Multi-Strategy Promoted-Archimedes Optimization Algorithm and Its Application in Constellation Mission Scheduling

open access: yesIEEE Access
To address the limitations of slow convergence, low accuracy, and local optima entrapment in the Archimedes Optimization Algorithm (AOA), we propose a multi-strategy enhanced Promoted-Archimedes Optimization Algorithm (P-AOA).
