Low-mass Stellar and Substellar Candidate Companions around Massive Stars in Sco OB1 and M17
Massive stars are recognized for their high degree of multiplicity, yet the mass ratio regime below 0.1 remains insufficiently explored. It is therefore unknown whether extremely low-mass (possibly substellar) companions can form and survive in the ...

On the evolution of a star cluster and its multiple stellar systems following gas dispersal
We investigate the evolution, following gas dispersal, of a star cluster produced from a hydrodynamical calculation. We find that when the gas, initially comprising 60% of the mass, is removed, the system settles into a bound cluster containing 30-40% of

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Probing the distinct chemical history of the Milky Way halo and old thick disk through HESP-GOMPA survey [PDF]
Recent studies of the time-resolved Milky Way formation using asteroseismology have shown that thick disk stars could be very old (0.8 Gyr after the Big Bang, even older than the inner halo).

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

PARP‐1 is a key enzyme in the DNA damage response, and its inhibition induces cancer cell death via synthetic lethality. Au(I)‐based drugs, such as aurothioglucose and sodium aurothiomalate, block PARP‐1's DNA‐dependent activity by targeting its zinc finger domains.
