Due to the increased peak-valley difference at long time scales caused by the differences in electricity usage of ships at the port, as well as the power fluctuations at short time scales caused by impulsive loads such as gantry cranes and hoists, there ...

ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Remaining Useful Life Prediction for Nonlinear Degraded Equipment With Bivariate Time Scales
As the fundamental and prerequisite work of remaining useful life (RUL) prediction, degradation modeling directly affects the accuracy of RUL prediction.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Multiple time scales of temporal response in pyramidal and fast spiking cortical neurons
Neural dynamic processes correlated over several time scales are found in vivo, in stimulus-evoked as well as spontaneous activity, and are thought to affect the way sensory stimulation is processed.

Multiple Time-Scales in Classical and Quantum-Classical Molecular Dynamics [PDF]
The existence of multiple time scales in molecular dynamics poses interesting and challenging questions from an analytical as well as from a numerical point of view. In this paper, we consider simplified models with two essential time scales and describe

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Existence of positive solutions for non local p-Laplacian thermistor problems on time scales [PDF]
We make use of the Guo-Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem on cones to prove existence of positive solutions to a non local p-Laplacian boundary value problem on time scales arising in many applications. © 2007 Victoria University.
