Influence of Time-Delayed Fractional-Order PD Control on the Nonlinear Dynamics of a MAGLEV Vehicle Under Aerodynamic and Centrifugal Excitations

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Time delays are inherently present in active control systems as a consequence of sensor acquisition, communication lags, and actuator dynamics, and their impact on system behavior cannot be overlooked.

Multivariate Multiscale Symbolic Entropy Analysis of Human Gait Signals

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
The complexity quantification of human gait time series has received considerable interest for wearable healthcare. Symbolic entropy is one of the most prevalent algorithms used to measure the complexity of a time series, but it fails to account for the ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

On the convergence of high resolution methods with multiple time scales for hyperbolic conservation laws [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2002
A class of finite volume methods based on standard high resolution schemes, but which allows spatially varying time steps, is described and analyzed. A maximum principle and the TVD property are verified for general advective flux, extending the previous theoretical work on local time stepping methods.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Asymmetry of information flow between volatilities across time scales

open access: yes, 2010
Conventional time series analysis, focusing exclusively on a time series at a given scale, lacks the ability to explain the nature of the data-generating process.

Analysing and correcting the differences between multi-source and multi-scale spatial remote sensing observations. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Differences exist among analysis results of agriculture monitoring and crop production based on remote sensing observations, which are obtained at different spatial scales from multiple remote sensors in same time period, and processed by same algorithms,

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

A Kind of Forest Disease and Pest Infection Model with Time Delay

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology
Controlling forest diseases and insect pests is beneficial to increase forest carbon sink. It is of great significance to realize China ′s“ double carbon ”strategy.
