Multiplexed Passive Optical Fiber Sensor Networks for Water Level Monitoring: A Review
Water management is a critical mission required to protect the water resources that is essential in diverse industrial applications. Amongst a variety of parameters such as level (or depth), temperature, conductivity, turbidity, and pH, the water level ...

Growing Multiplex Networks [PDF]
We propose a modeling framework for growing multiplexes where a node can belong to different networks. We define new measures for multiplexes and we identify a number of relevant ingredients for modeling their evolution such as the coupling between the different layers and the arrival time distribution of nodes.

Supersymmetric multiplex networks described by coupled Bose and Fermi statistics [PDF]
Until now, no simple symmetries have been detected in complex networks. Here we show that, in growing multiplex networks the symmetries of multilayer structures can be exploited by their dynamical rules, forming supersymmetric multiplex networks described by coupled Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac quantum statistics.

High-efficiency single-photon generation via large-scale active time multiplexing [PDF]
Time multiplexing with a low-loss adjustable optical delay line enables largely enhanced emissions of heralded single photons. Deterministic generation of single- and multiphoton states is a key requirement for large-scale optical quantum information and

Cooperative caching and coordinated beamforming technique for cognitive radio networks
Scarcity of frequency spectrum is one of the main issues in wireless communications. Cognitive radio networks (CRNs) have been considered as an effective way of improving the spectrum efficiency by opportunistically using the spectrum resources through ...

Diversity-multiplexing tradeoff in mode-division multiplexing [PDF]
The capacity of mode-division multiplexing (MDM) systems is limited, for a given outage probability, by mode-dependent loss (MDL) and gain. Modal degrees of freedom may be exploited to increase transmission rate (multiplexing gain) or lower outage probability (diversity gain), but there is a fundamental tradeoff between the achievable multiplexing and ...

Ultrabright Fluorescent Silica Nanoparticles for Multiplexed Detection
Fluorescent tagging is a popular method in biomedical research. Using multiple taggants of different but resolvable fluorescent spectra simultaneously (multiplexing), it is possible to obtain more comprehensive and faster information about various ...
