H∞ Based Control for Load Mitigation in Wind Turbines

open access: yesEnergies, 2012
This article demonstrates a strategy to design multivariable and multi-objective controllers based on the H∞ norm reduction applied to a wind turbine.

The Broad Reach of Multivariable Thinking

open access: yesInformal Logic, 2023
Simple explanations are very often inadequate and can encourage faulty inferences. We examined college students’ explanations regarding illegal immigration to determine the prevalence of single-factor explanations. The form of students’ explanations was

On Multivariate Interpolation [PDF]

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, 2005
A new approach to interpolation theory for functions of several variables is proposed. We develop a multivariate divided difference calculus based on the theory of noncommutative quasi‐determinants. In addition, intriguing explicit formulae that connect the classical finite difference interpolation coefficients for univariate curves with multivariate ...

Multivariate fidelities

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical
Abstract The bivariate classical fidelity is a widely used measure of the similarity of two probability distributions. There exist a few extensions of the notion of the bivariate classical fidelity to more than two probability distributions; herein we call these extensions multivariate classical fidelities, with some examples being the ...

Analytical Solutions of Temperature Distribution in a Rectangular Parallelepiped

open access: yesAxioms, 2022
In the present article, we give analytical solutions for temperature distribution in a rectangular parallelepiped with the help of a multivariable I-function.

Multivariable predictive PID control for quadruple tank

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper multivariable predictive PID controller has been implemented on a multi-inputs multi-outputs control problem i.e., quadruple tank system, in comparison with a simple multiloop PI controller.

Multivariate topology simplification [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Geometry, 2016
Topological simplification of scalar and vector fields is well-established as an effective method for analysing and visualising complex data sets. For multi-field data, topological analysis requires simultaneous advances both mathematically and computationally.

Multivariate Regression Depth [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete & Computational Geometry, 2000
The regression depth of a hyperplane with respect to a set of n points in R^d is the minimum number of points the hyperplane must pass through in a rotation to vertical. We generalize hyperplane regression depth to k-flats for any k between 0 and d-1. The k=0 case gives the classical notion of center points.
