Uncontrollability and unobservability of multivariable systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1972The uncontrollability and unobservability of linear time-invariant multivariable control systems is investigated. A simple test based on the properties of the minimal polynomial yields the suffcient conditions for uncontrollability and unobservability.

Decentralized control of linear multivariable systems
Automatica, 1975Abstract This paper studies the effects of decentralized feedback on the closed-loop properties of jointly controllable, jointly observable k-channel linear systems. Channel interactions within such systems are described by means of suitably defined directed graphs.

Multivariable Structure of Fuzzy Control Systems
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1986Application of fuzzy set theory to the design of control systems has led to interest in the description of multivariable fuzzy systems. The authors present an idea for the solution of multivariable fuzzy equations by decomposition of a multivariable fuzzy system into a set of one- dimensional systems. The authors use the block diagram representation of

Building Multivariate Systems Biology Models
Analytical Chemistry, 2012Systems biology methods using large-scale "omics" data sets face unique challenges: integrating and analyzing near limitless data space, while recognizing and removing systematic variation or noise. Herein we propose a complementary multivariate analysis workflow to both integrate "omics" data from disparate sources and analyze the results for specific

On multivariable linear systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1970A general result in linear system theory concerning the controllability and observability of multi-input multi-output systems is presented. Specifically, it is shown that any controllable observable linear system can be made controllable from any input and observable from any output using output feedback.

Designs for Multivariable Systems
2004In Chapters 3 and 4, we developed adaptive state feedback and output feedback actuator failure compensation control schemes for single-output linear time-invariant systems with possible failures of redundant actuators whose effect on the system dynamic behavior is similar (so that an equal-actuation (or proportional actuation, see (1.15)) scheme for ...

The stability of multivariable systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1972The stability of any multivariable linear time-invariant control system can always be determined by existing methods. However, the designer needs to know how stability is affected by changes in loop gains and other parameters. This leads to a requirement for decomposing the stability problem, if possible, into a number of subproblems.
