Immunoregulatory activities of polysaccharides from mung bean
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2016Ultrasonic treatment was performed on water-extractable polysaccharides from the seed of mung beans. Purified by anion-exchange and gel filtration chromatography, MWP-1' and MWP-2' were obtained. Average molecular weights (Mws) of MWP-1' and MWP-2' were 68.4 kDa, and 52.4 kDa, respectively.

Angular Black Spot Disease of Mung Beans
Nature, 1953SEVERE leaf spot disease on mung bean (Phaseolus radiatus L.) was observed near Banaras, India, during the months of September and October when the plants were just reaching maturity. The infection spots appeared mostly on lower leaves and could be easily mistaken on the basis of field symptoms for Cercospora cruenta occurring on the same host ...

Glutamic Dehydrogenase of Mung Bean Mitochondria
Nature, 1959GLUTAMIC dehydrogenase has been demonstrated in several higher plants1 and is associated with mitochondria of pea2 and oat3. Mitochondria isolated from mung bean (Phaseolus aureus) seedlings4 were found capable of oxidizing glutamic acid (90 &µl. oxygen/hr./mgm. (nitrogen).

Antioxidant activity of mung bean hulls
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1997AbstractThe antioxidant activity of methanolic extracts of mung bean hulls was investigated. Extracts at a concentration of 100 ppm exhibited stronger antioxidant activity than 100 ppm dl‐α‐tocopherol (Toc) or 100 ppm butylated hydroxyanisole on the peroxidation of linoleic acid.

Physicochemical characterization of mung bean starch
Food Hydrocolloids, 1997Abstract Starch from mung bean (Vigna radiata) was isolated and some of the important characteristics determined. The yield of starch was 31.1% on a whole-seed basis. The shape of the starch granule was oval to round to bean shaped, with granules 7–26 μ m in diameter. Scanning electron micrographs revealed the presence of smooth surfaces.

Deoxyribonucleic acid of mung bean embryonic axes
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1971Abstract A technique is developed for the isolation of highly polymerized DNA from mung bean embryonic axes. The isolated DNA has a buoyant density of 1.694 g/cm 3 , suggesting that it is a nuclear DNA. Using DNA-RNA hybridization technique, about 1 % of the total DNA is found to be hybridizable with ribosomal [ 3 H]RNA.

Fracture toughness of mung bean gels
Journal of Materials Science, 1993Mung bean starch gels, of 4.5-14 wt % solid content, were stored at room temperature and at 4°C in a refrigerator and then cracked quasi-statically by driving a 40° included-angle wedge into intact specimens in order to determine their fracture toughness. The work to fracture of the gels, calculated without respect to energy loss due to viscoelasticity
