Effect of Microbial Muramidase on Production Performance, Egg Quality, and Digestibility in Laying Hens

International journal of research and innovation in applied science
Recently, a new source of muramidase has become available and lack of research has been done to investigate its effect in laying hens. The current study evaluated the effects of different inclusion levels of exogenous microbial muramidase on production ...

Lysozyme (Muramidase) in Pleural Effusions and Serum

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1982
The authors evaluated the usefulness of paired pleural fluid and serum lysozyme determination in the differential diagnosis of pleurisies in 118 patients. Lysozyme activity of tuberculous effusions was found significantly higher (P less than 0.001) than that of effusions due to malignancy or heart failure, but considerable overlap of the individual ...

RENAL TRANSPLANTATION AND MURAMIDASE ACTIVITY

Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1970
Abstract. Plasma and urinary muramidase activities have been measured in 26 patients with renal allogenic transplants. It was found that increased urinary muramidase rather accurately mirrored post‐transplantation events associated with tubular damage, i.e. rejection, tubular ischemia, and leakage from the ureter.

Measurement of the lytic activity of lysozymes (muramidases)

Analytical Biochemistry, 1963
Abstract The kinetics of bacteriolysis of Micrococcus lysodeikticus catalyzed by homogeneous lysozymes from egg white, rat kidney, and Bacillus subtilis-R have been found to follow a second-order reaction with respect to enzyme. A rapid, sensitive turbidimetric method based on these kinetics has been presented.

Muramidase Activity in Leukemia and Myeloproliferative Disorders

Oncology, 2009
Serum muramidase activity (SMA) was measured in 160 patients with leukemia and various myeloproliferative disorders (MPD). SMA was low in acute lymphocytic leukemia, variable in acute undifferentiated leukemia, normal or increased in acute myelogenous leukemia, while greatly increased in acute monocytic leukemia and acute myelomonocytic leukemia.
