Computationally predicted virus responsive miRNAs in banana (Musa AAB)
Research Journal of Biotechnology, 2021The bioinformatics tool NovoMIR was used to predict miRNAs in Musa acuminata genome. NovoMIR predicted 85 pre-miRNAs from the 11 chromosomes of Musa acuminata DH Pahang and BLAST analysis of the predicted pre-miRNAs against annotated miRNAs of miRBase identified 52 mature miRNAs belonging to 38 different families.

Air-drying characteristics of plantain (Musa AAB)
Journal of Food Engineering, 1998Abstract The drying behaviour, shrinkage and moisture distribution within cylindrical pieces of plantain, of varying thickness, and with different air temperatures, were studied in an experimental hot-air drier. By means of response surface methodology the influence of air temperature and thickness of the pieces on the drying rates was established ...

In vitro propagation of Musa (AAA group) 'Amritsagar', Musa (AAB group) 'Malbhog' and Musa (AAB group) 'Chenichampa' was carried out using sword sucker explants. The effect of three different sizes of explants (5, 10 and 20 mm) on the establishment of banana in micropropagation was investigated.

Moisture sorption isotherm characteristics of plantain (Musa, AAB)
Journal of Food Engineering, 2000Abstract Moisture sorption isotherms of fresh, pre-treated and freeze-dried plantain, at 40°C, 50°C and 60°C, were constructed using the static gravimetric method. The pre-treatment involved blanching and infusion in 40° Brix sucrose at 4°C for 16 h. The isotherms of the fresh plantain were of BET type II, while those of the freeze-dried samples were

Optimization of plantain (Musa AAB) micropropagation by temporary immersion system
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 2005The positive and reliable effect of temporary immersion systems on in vitroshoot proliferation was already proved for different plant genera and it is now presented as an alternative for plantain micropropagation. Some culture parameters affecting the efficiency of the twin flasks system or temporary immersion bioreactor (Escalona et al., 1999) were ...
