Estudo Químico de Musa acuminata Colla (Musaceae)

open access: yesRevista Fitos, 2010

A Deep Metagenomic Snapshot as a Proof‐of‐Concept for Resource Generation: Simultaneous Assembly of Host, Food, and Microbiome Genomes From Stingless Bee Larval Food

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study serves as a proof‐of‐concept, demonstrating that deep shotgun sequencing of a single complex sample—stingless bee larval food—can simultaneously generate multiple genomic resources. From this dataset, we assembled three genomes (a near‐complete bacterium, a draft host mitochondrion, and a fragmented plant chloroplast) with varying ...

Non‐Native Plants Alter Bird‐Plant Frugivory Network Structure in a Human‐Modified Tropical Landscape

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
DNA metabarcoding of faecal samples from 21 frugivorous bird species in Gamboa, Panama, was used to assess how non‐native plants influence frugivory network structure. Non‐native species, though comprising only 28% of plants, reduced nestedness, increased connectance and modularity, and caused disproportionately high secondary bird extinctions while ...

Prevalence and diversity of Banana streack virus species in Cuba [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Banana streak virus (BSV) species are widespread in Musa spp worldwide. They are naturally transmitted either horizontally by several mealybug species or vertically by vegetative propagation of infected germplasm.

Ecological Niche Modeling Reveals Historical Population Dynamics and Future Climate Response of the Carnivorous Plant Nepenthes mirabilis in Southeast Asia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
The carnivorous pitcher plant Nepenthes mirabilis likely originated in Wallacea and New Guinea, and expanded northward into the Sundaic, Indochina, and Philippine regions during glacial and interglacial periods. In response to future climate change, the predicted geographical distributions are projected to a latitudinal shift toward higher latitudes ...

The R2R3-MYB gene family in banana (Musa acuminata): Genome-wide identification, classification and expression patterns.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
The R2R3-MYB genes comprise one of the largest transcription factor gene families in plants, playing regulatory roles in plant-specific developmental processes, defense responses and metabolite accumulation.

Using genotyping-by-sequencing to understand Musa diversity : [P449] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This project is part of a larger effort to apply genomics technologies to assess genetic diversity and to advance genetic improvement efforts in Musa (banana and plantain), a major staple food crop in the developing world.

Blueberries Reduce Palm Oil‐Induced Metabolic Endotoxemia in an In Vitro Human Intestinal‐Immune Cell Model

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 69, Issue 24, December 2025.
Digested palm oil and LPS treatment on intestinal Caco‐2 cells results in palm oil‐induced LPS translocation across the intestinal cell monolayer and nuclear factor kappa B (NF‐κB) activation of basolateral macrophages. Interestingly, digested whole berries reduce the palm oil + LPS‐mediated NF‐κB activation in macrophages.
