Adiposity associated DNA methylation signatures in adolescents are related to leptin and perinatal factors

open access: yesEpigenetics, 2022
Epigenetics links perinatal influences with later obesity. We identifed differentially methylated CpG (dmCpG) loci measured at 17 years associated with concurrent adiposity measures and examined whether these were associated with hsCRP, adipokines, and ...

How did Japan catch‐up with the West? Some implications of recent revisions to Japan's historical growth record

open access: yesAsia‐Pacific Economic History Review, Volume 66, Issue 1, Page 3-32, March 2026.
Abstract Revised GDP data suggest that Japan was more than one‐third richer in 1874 than suggested by Maddison, and that Meiji period growth built on earlier development. Despite trend GDP per capita growth during the Tokugawa Shogunate, the catching‐up process only started after 1890 with respect to Britain, and after World War I with respect to the ...

Musashi-2 promotes migration and invasion in bladder cancer via activation of the JAK2/STAT3 pathway [PDF]

open access: yesLaboratory Investigation, 2016
Musashi-2 (Msi2) is considered to have a crucial role in regulating various key cellular functions. However, the clinical significance and biological role of Msi2 in bladder cancer remains unknown. We examined the expression of Msi2 in bladder cancer cell lines in 167 clinical samples and the biological role of Msi2 in bladder cancer cells.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 409-427, February 2026.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Simultaneous Multi‐Layer Stacking for Longer‐Wavelength Broadband Computed Tomography with a Carbon Nanotube Film Photo‐Thermoelectric Camera Sheet

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
This work demonstrates broadband longer‐wavelength computed tomography reconstruction monitoring for multi‐layered composite 3D objects by developing a freely attachable large‐area‐view pixel‐integrated 2D camera sheet and multi‐wavelength photo‐sources.

Structural Stability‐Driven Dynamic Range Analysis of Carbon Nanotube Photo‐Thermoelectric Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
This work clarifies that surface adhesiveness of supporting substrates dominantly governs response signal dynamic ranges for pn‐junction type carbon nanotube (CNT) film photo‐thermoelectric sensors. Chemical agents constituting substrate adhesion degrade the pn‐junction of the device, which inherently serves as the most sensitive photo‐detection ...

Enhanced Responsivity, Accuracy, and Stability of Aerosol Jet Printing via Mechanical Switching Valve Assisted Internal Shuttering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
This work demonstrates ultra‐high ON‐OFF responsivity of AJP by mechanical switching valve assisted shuttering. The jet relaxation and ON‐OFF delay are substantially eliminated from greater than 35 s, maintaining patterning quality independent of the variations of printing parameters, permitting excellent process stability and universality.

Phosphorylation Of MSI-1 Is Required For Forgetting In Caenorhabditis Elegans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The Musashi family of RNA-binding proteins controls several biological processes including stem cell maintenance, cell division, and neural function. Previously, we demonstrated that the C.
