Soft and Transient Bioelectronics Enabled by Polymer‐Free Ti3C2Tx MXene Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present Ti3C2Tx MXene hydrogel (MXgel) bioelectronics, a soft, flexible, and fully transient platform for high‐fidelity neural recording and stimulation. MXgel bioelectronics exhibit exceptional electrical conductivities, low electrochemical impedances, and high charge injection capacities.

Breast and thigh meat quality of Muscovy ducks fattened under different housing systems

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science
This study evaluated the effects of two housing systems – conventional deep litter (Control) and deep litter with access to a swimming pond (Swimming) – and sex on meat quality traits and muscle fibre characteristics in Muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata ...

The descending limb of the sarcomere length-force relation in single muscle fibres of the frog.

open access: yes, 1985
Single muscle fibres, isolated from the tibialis anterior muscle of the frog, were used to study intersarcomere dynamics during muscle-isometric (fixed-end) tetani at long sarcomere lengths.

Fiber‐Format Flexible Linear Electrostatic Motors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible coaxial fibre‐format electrostatic motor enables backdrivable and reversible linear actuation with high force density and functionality under bending, offering a scalable actuation platform for soft and wearable robotics. ABSTRACT Linear motion is fundamental to robotics, yet existing solutions are either rigid electromagnetic motors or ...

Biohybrid Crawling Robot With Spiral‐Spring Backbone and Inclined Legs for Enhanced Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present a biohybrid crawling robot integrating a muscle ring with a flexible skeleton combining two complementary structural elements. The spiral‐spring backbone enables large‐amplitude bending without compromising axial stability, while outward‐inclined legs with unequal front–rear lengths effectively convert deformation into directional strides ...

Accelerated sarcopenia precedes learning and memory impairments in the P301S mouse model of tauopathies and Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle
Background Alzheimer's disease (AD) impairs cognitive functions and peripheral systems, including skeletal muscles. The PS19 mouse, expressing the human tau P301S mutation, shows cognitive and muscular pathologies, reflecting the central and peripheral ...

Directional Confinement Governed Ion Transport for Efficient Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Structural anisotropy provides an effective means to regulate ion transport in polymer electrolytes. Directionally aligned channels formed by freeze‐drying provide continuous pathways for ion migration, enhancing ion mobility and simultaneously improving the strain and blocking force of ionic actuators.
