Dissolution Behaviors of Trace Muscovite during Pressure Leaching of Hydrothermal Vein Quartz Using H2SO4 and NH4Cl as Leaching Agents

open access: yes, 2018
Dissolution behaviors of trace muscovite during pressure leaching of hydrothermal vein quartz using H2SO4 and NH4Cl as leaching agents have been studied by means of optical and electronic microscopes.

Low‐Carbon Composite Cement Mortar Incorporating Local Raw Materials as SCMs: Performance and Life Cycle Analysis

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 4, April 2026.
Overview of the experimental plan. ABSTRACT Performance and life cycle analysis of composite cement mortars developed using local conventional (blast furnace slag and fly ash) and novel non‐conventional (stone wool, glass wool, calcined Finnish clay, volcanic pozzolan Iceland, and ladle slag) raw materials as supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs)

Do PCEs Adsorb Preferentially on OPC or Calcined Clay?

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT In multi‐component binders, admixtures such as polycarboxylates (PCEs) may exhibit preferential adsorption onto one component. Hence, for the first time PCE adsorption on ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and calcined clay (CC) in an OPC/CC blend was quantified by separating the OPC and CC particles from the hydrated cement employing a ...

Coesite Discovery in Eclogites Confirms UHP Metamorphism in the Orlica‐Śnieżnik Dome (SW Poland)

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 44, Issue 3, Page 200-225, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Eclogite lenses are exposed within the orthogneiss‐dominated core of the Orlica‐Śnieżnik Dome in the Sudetes, which forms the northeastern margin of the Bohemian Massif (Variscan Belt of Central Europe). The presence of coesite inclusions in garnet and omphacite confirms that these eclogites underwent ultrahigh‐pressure metamorphism.

Decoding Metamorphic Nanodiamonds Formation Through Their Internal Structures

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 44, Issue 3, Page 226-245, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Metamorphic diamonds offer insights into Earth's evolution, modulating the global carbon cycle through subduction into the mantle and exhumation. However, the formation and internal structure of minute diamonds remain poorly understood. Here, we study the internal structures of diamond‐bearing inclusions from the Eastern Alps using state‐of ...

Unravelling friction anisotropy by atomic force microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, Volume 302, Issue 1, Page 111-144, April 2026.
Abstract Friction plays a crucial role in both natural phenomena, from the flow of blood cells to earthquakes, and technological applications, from car engines to wind turbines. One of the most fundamental aspects of tribology is friction anisotropy, that is, the dependence of the friction force vector on the direction of sliding.

Industrial mineral resources of Zambia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Zambia has for many years been heavily dependent upon the mining of copper which, combined with cobalt production, represents over 98% of mineral sales and 75% of export earnings (1997 figures).

Exploring the Gravimetric and Geochronological Links in Ancient Terranes of the São Francisco Craton and Borborema Province, NE‐Brazil

open access: yesTerra Nova, Volume 38, Issue 2, Page 77-86, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Deep crustal fragments and structural lineaments identified through satellite gravity data provide evidence for the extension of the reworked ancient basement of the Central African Block into the northern São Francisco Craton and southern Borborema Province.
