New data on mineralogy of granitic pegmatites Mt. Soroch′ya, Southern Urals

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2016
Mineralogy of granitic pegmatites of Mt. Soroch′ya near Zlatoust which ore included in the Upper Riphean metamorphic mica-garnet, staurolite-garnet, and wollastonite-sillimanite-garnet schists of the Kuvash Formation is examined. Zonal pegmatite veins 30-

Investigating Technology and Raw Materials Source of the Archaic and Classical Architectural Terracottas From the Athenaion in Castro (Apulia, Italy)

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 512-526, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Since 2000, archaeological excavations have brought to light the sanctuary of Athena in Castro (Apulia, Italy), including terracotta roofs dated between the 6th and 4th centuries bce. Based on their morphological and stylistic features, it is suggested that the terracotta items were manufactured in the Greek colony of Taras (modern Taranto ...

Matériaux de mullite à microstructure organisée composés d'assemblage muscovite-kaolinite

open access: yes, 2007
Des matériaux de mullite à microstructure organisée sont réalisés à partir d'assemblages des minéraux muscovite et kaolinite. L'étude par diffraction Rx et de neutrons de la muscovite montre l'effet de la température sur la réduction de l'organisation ...

Commercial clays in cosmetic formulations for hair care: Characterization and application to improve the mechanical properties of hair fibre

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 3, Page 549-561, June 2026.
The shampoo and conditioner bar formulations enhanced hair gloss, promoting softness, improved cuticle alignment, and effective protection of hair shafts against external aggressors. Findings from mechanical properties measurements indicate that the clay‐containing formulations enhance the mechanical strength of hair, contributing to stronger and more ...

Jadeite in Continental Subduction: Its Preservation, Breakdown and Pseudomorphic Replacement in Erzgebirge UHP Gneisses

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 44, Issue 5, Page 376-393, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The absence of jadeite in regions where subduction of continental crust has been documented by other high‐pressure (HP) or ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) minerals is striking. This study presents only the second discovery of jadeite in the crystalline rocks of the Erzgebirge, a region known for its occurrences of microdiamond, coesite and omphacite ...

Tracking Dehydration Reactions and Fossil Fluid Flux in Shear Zones Using Garnet Microstructures

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 44, Issue 5, Page 394-414, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Shear zones act as preferential fluid pathways during prograde and retrograde stages of metamorphism. Nonetheless, we still have limited knowledge of the drainage and permeability of natural settings. The preserved signature of fluid in exhumed rocks provides insights into fluid flow during burial and exhumation.

Microbially generated ferruginous crusts: A potential biosignature of continental input in coastal settings

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 73, Issue 4, Page 1225-1243, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Thin ferruginous sandy crusts are common on top of sandstone beds in the Early Permian post‐glacial deposits of the Paraná Basin in southern Brazil. These crusts usually preserve wrinkle structures, suggesting that they might be a product of microbial mediation.

Neoarchaean and Palaeoproterozoic tectono-metamorphic events along the southern margin of the Zimbabwe craton: Insights from muscovite 40Ar/39Ar geochronology from rare-metal pegmatites, Zimbabwe

open access: yes
Muscovite 40Ar/39Ar geochronology on ten samples from complex-type, rare-metal (e.g., Li, Cs, Ta, Rb, Be, Nb, Sn and W) pegmatites from the Bikita and Mweza pegmatite fields in Zimbabwe yield ages that range from ca. 2622–1940 Ma.

Anomalous Thermal Expansion of Muscovite Mica Implanted with Noble Gases

open access: yes, 1992
Natural phlogopite micas may contain occluded water which gives rise to anomalous reversible thermal expansion behavior at high temperatures. Expansions as much as 200% at 600°C, are observed, when water vapor bubbles form within the mica and expand ...
