No Influence of Sleep Quality and Chronotype on the Effects of Mental Fatigue: Evidence From an Exploratory Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 26, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT A recent trial showed a negative impact of mental fatigue (MF) on subjective and behavioural outcomes. However, effects on physical performance outcomes were smaller than previously reported, possibly due to interindividual differences. To explore these differences, we examined whether sleep quality and chronotype modulate subjective and ...

Identifying Work‐Related Factors Leading to Awkward Postures and Musculoskeletal Disorders in Crane Operators: Insights From a Grounded Theory Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) remain a leading cause of occupational disability worldwide. Overhead crane operators are frequently exposed to awkward postures that increase the risk of MSDs. While physical conditions are often blamed, the broader organizational and ergonomic context remains underexplored.

Two‐Photon Fluorescence and Second‐Harmonic Generation Microscopy: Principles and Biomedical Applications

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2026.
Compared with single‐photon methods, TPM enables deep‐tissue imaging using near‐infrared light, with excitation confined to the focal plane, thereby reducing photodamage. SHG microscopy images noncentrosymmetric biological structures such as collagen and myosin without fluorescent labels, offering direct structural contrast.

Effects of Daily Rhythm‐Aligned Training on Skeletal Muscle Adaptation in Older Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Ageing is associated with declines in skeletal muscle mass and strength, increasing the risk of sarcopenia, functional impairment and reduced quality of life. Resistance training is an effective intervention to counteract these changes.

Osteomyelitis: Epidemiology, Classification, Pathophysiology, Clinical Features, Diagnosis, and Management

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
The immunosuppressive in OM Staphylococcus aureus employs multiple physical barriers to evade host immunity during skeletal infection, including biofilm formation on implant surfaces and necrotic bone tissues, invasion into the osteocyte lacuno‐canalicular network (OLCN), intracellular persistence within osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and osteocytes, and ...
