Targeting rapid TKI‐induced AXL upregulation overcomes adaptive ERK reactivation and exerts antileukemic effects in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.

Adaptive group mutation for tackling deception in genetic search [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Copyright @ 2004 WSEASIn order to study the efficacy of genetic algorithms (GAs), a number of fitness landscapes have been designed and used as test functions.

The Importance of DNA Repair in Tumor Suppression

open access: yes, 2004
The transition from a normal to cancerous cell requires a number of highly specific mutations that affect cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, differentiation, and many other cell functions.

Quivers for silting mutation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
We give a combinatorial mutation rule for Aihara's and Iyama's silting mutation. As an application, we reprove Keller-Yang's mutation rule for Ginzburg algebras, and obtain an analog of that rule for arbitrary dimension.

[Point mutation].

open access: yesNihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2019
A point mutation is when a single base pair is altered. Point mutations can have one of three effects. First, the base substitution can be a silent mutation where the altered codon corresponds to the same amino acid.

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories predict survival in trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors applied joint/mixed models that predict mortality of trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients based on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories. Patients at high risk of death could be spared aggressive therapy with the prospect of a higher quality of life in their remaining lifetime, whereas patients with a ...

LittleDarwin: a Feature-Rich and Extensible Mutation Testing Framework for Large and Complex Java Systems

open access: yes, 2017
Mutation testing is a well-studied method for increasing the quality of a test suite. We designed LittleDarwin as a mutation testing framework able to cope with large and complex Java software systems, while still being easily extensible with new ...

Annealing schedule from population dynamics

open access: yes, 1999
We introduce a dynamical annealing schedule for population-based optimization algorithms with mutation. On the basis of a statistical mechanics formulation of the population dynamics, the mutation rate adapts to a value maximizing expected rewards at ...
