Effects of degree distribution in mutual synchronization of neural networks
We study the effects of the degree distribution in mutual synchronization of two-layer neural networks. We carry out three coupling strategies: large-large coupling, random coupling, and small-small coupling.

Improved rotor position estimation in extended back-EMF based sensorless PM brushless AC drives with magnetic saliency [PDF]
An improved extended back-EMF based sensorless control method is proposed for a brushless AC motor equipped with an interior permanent magnet rotor. It accounts for dq-axis cross-coupling magnetic saturation by introducing an apparent mutual winding ...

Modulated Mutually Coupled Nano-Lasers [PDF]
The dynamics of mutually coupled nano-lasers subject to direct current modulation has been analyzed using rate equations, which include the Purcell cavity-enhanced spontaneous emission factor $F$ and the spontaneous emission coupling factor $\beta $ .

A simple and versatile analytical approach for planar metamaterials
We present an analytical model which permits the calculation of effective material parameters for planar metamaterials consisting of arbitrary unit cells (metaatoms) formed by a set of straight wire sections of potentially different shape.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Hamiltonian Coupling of Electromagnetic Field and Matter
Reversible part of evolution equations of physical systems is often generated by a Poisson bracket. We discuss geometric means of construction of Poisson brackets and their mutual coupling (direct, semidirect and matched-pair products) as well as ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Collection of Mutually Synchronized Chaotic Systems
A general explicit coupling for mutual synchronization of two arbitrary identical continuous systems is proposed. The synchronization is proved analytically. The coupling is given for all 19 systems from Sprott's collection.
