Mutual Coupling in Antenna Arrays 2013

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014
The invention of antenna arrays opened up the door for microwave sensing and communications. Most applications of antenna arrays are in the defense and wireless communications areas. The introduction of multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) concept in recent years has opened up further opportunities in that the system performance can be maintained with

Minimizing Mutual Coupling

open access: yes, 2012
Disclosed herein are techniques, systems, and methods relating to minimizing mutual coupling between a first antenna and a second antenna. In one implementation, a plurality of antennas and at least one tuning module are provided. A control module may be coupled to the tuning module.

Mutual coupling compensation for direction finding using receiving mutual impedance [PDF]

open access: yes2014 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation Conference Proceedings, 2014
The accuracy of direction finding using antenna arrays with different array apertures is studied. Numerical simulations are performed using full-wave moment method. The undesirable mutual coupling effect is properly modelled and compensated using receiving-mutual-impedance and the direction finding is obtained using the Matrix Pencil Method.

A Low Mutual Coupling Circle Microstrip Array Antenna for 5.8 GHz Band [PDF]

open access: yesHangkong bingqi, 2022
In order to effectively suppress the influence of mutual coupling between array elements on antenna radiation performance, a novel dual-circle microstrip patch array antenna with low mutual coupling and low correlation is proposed.

Decreasing Mutual Coupling in a Phased Array Using a Mutual Coupling Based Element [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2019
Generally, mutual coupling substantially affects performance of arrays in both transmit and receive states. This paper is to address this challenge. In this paper, a densely packed S-band circularly polarized (CP) microstrip phased array antenna is designed.

Terahertz-Band Direction Finding With Beam-Split and Mutual Coupling Calibration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
peer reviewedTerahertz (THz) band is currently envisioned as the key building block to achieving the future sixth generation (6G) wireless systems. The ultra-wide bandwidth and very narrow beamwidth of THz systems offer the next order of magnitude in
