Mutual coupling reduction between PIFAs on handheld devices

2010 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2010
Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) technology is widely used in modern wireless communication devices in order to achieve higher channel capacities without additional power and frequency spectrum. A number of closely packed antenna elements are normally required in modern multi-element-antenna (MEA) handsets or wireless routers using MIMO technology.

Mutual Coupling Reduction Between Two Closely Spaced PIFAs

2018 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2018
This paper presents the design of two PIFAs antennas array with decoupling structure to enhance the isolation between the elements for MIMO applications. The array is built on flexible polyimide substrate with relative permittivity of 4.3 and thickness of 50 um. The decoupling structure is rectangular loop placed between the two PIFAs.

Mutual coupling reduction between array elements using 3D EBG

2015 Global Conference on Communication Technologies (GCCT), 2015
A 3D electromagnetic band gap structure proposed in present paper, exhibiting a property of surface wave band gap. During band gap region 3DEBG never allow neither TE nor TM surface waves. In this paper the band gap property is reveled using two techniques. The results obtained in two techniques are comparatively presented.

Mutual coupling reduction in metamaterial antenna for terahertz application

Applied Physics A, 2019
We investigate in this work an effective approach to reduce mutual coupling between two metamaterial antennas operating at the THz frequency band by incorporating a metasurface designed using an electric inductive capacitive resonator. The metasurface is designed to provide a band stop functionality in the operating bandwidth of the antenna.

Reduction of mutual coupling between compact MIMO antennas arrays

2010 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2010
A novel technique for reducing the electromagnetic coupling between closely spaced MIMO antenna arrays on a compact ground plane is presented. The proposed ground plane introduces pairs of miniaturised convoluted slits between two PIFAs resulting in a significant reduction of the mutual coupling within their operating frequency band. The proposed slits

Mutual Coupling Reduction of Antennas on a Complex Superstructure

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2004
A useful method for mutual coupling reduction of antennas on complex superstructure is proposed. The best position and direction of the victim antenna with respect to the causative antenna are obtained by a genetic algorithm (GA) and a matrix Green's function. The MoM solver is used to achieve coupling factors such as Z 21 and S 21 between two antennas.

Reduction of Mutual Coupling Effect in Adaptive Arrays

2015
This paper deals with the problem of mutual coupling in circular and elliptical antenna arrays. Input impedance method is used to compensate the Mutual coupling among the array elements. Improved LMS method is used to optimize the weights to generate proper beam form. Directive elements are used in the array.
