General modeling of the windings for multi-phase ac machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper, which deals with the winding modeling of ac multi-phase machines with a regular distribution of the stator slots, details an original matrix modeling of the stator winding.

Accurate Expressions of Mutual Inductance and Their Calculation of Archimedean Spiral Coils

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Considering the helicity of Archimedean spiral coils, this paper proposes accurate expressions of mutual inductance and their numerical calculation methods, which can be applied in the wireless power transmission field, etc.

An equivalent-effect phenomenon in eddy current non-destructive testing of thin structures

open access: yes, 2019
The inductance/impedance due to thin metallic structures in non-destructive testing (NDT) is difficult to evaluate. In particular, in Finite Element Method (FEM) eddy current simulation, an extremely fine mesh is required to accurately simulate skin ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Efficient calculation of the mutual inductance of arbitrarily oriented circular filaments via a generalisation of the Kalantarov-Zeitlin method

open access: yes, 2019
In this article, we present a new analytical formulation for calculation of the mutual inductance between two circular filaments arbitrarily oriented with respect to each other, as an alternative to Grover [1] and Babic [2] expressions reported in 1944 ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Influence of nonuniform critical current density profile on magnetic field behavior of AC susceptibility in 2D Josephson Junction Arrays

open access: yes, 2005
Employing mutual-inductance measurements we study the magnetic field dependence of complex AC susceptibility of artificially prepared highly ordered (periodic) two-dimensional Josephson junction arrays of unshunted Nb-AlO_x-Nb junctions.

The interaction of helical tip and root vortices in a wind turbine wake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Analysis of the helical vortices measured behind a model wind turbine in a water channel are reported. Phase-locked measurements using planar particle image ve- locimetry are taken behind a Glauert rotor to investigate the evolution and breakdown of the ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Experimental and finite element analysis of coil position effects in inductive sensors using a design of experiments approach

open access: yesSensing and Bio-Sensing Research
Planar coils offer advantages such as a two-dimensional structure and compact design, making them suitable for various applications. They are widely used in position sensing, proximity detection, and non-contact measurement.
