On the Flux Linkage between Pancake Coils in Resonance-Type Wireless Power Transfer Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
This work presents a series representation for the mutual inductance of two coaxial pancake coils which remains accurate in non-quasi-static regime under the hypothesis that the current in the source coil is uniformly distributed.

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

Comparative Evaluation of the Air Core Magnetic Design for MHz+ Switching Frequency

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Power electronics with a possible novel distributed system pose fresh challenges and require continuous improvement. One approach is to increase the switching frequency, thereby reducing size and weight.

A Detailed Study for the Determination of Phase Inductances of a Shaded-Pole Induction Motor with Variable Air Gap

open access: yesGazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi, 2019
Shaded-pole induction motors (SPIMs) are extensively used in industrial applications, home appliances and ventilation systems due to their simple structure, low cost and low maintenance requirement.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Theoretical Analysis of Planar Spiral Coils between Two Multilayer Media for Electric Vehicle Wireless Charging

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Square and circular coils are two typical topologies for coupling coils and are applied to wireless charging. However, most of the research on coupling coils is based on the finite element model (FEM), which is a time-consuming process for 3-D structure ...

Lipopolysaccharide uptake is augmented in lipopolysaccharide‐tolerant mouse macrophage‐like cells via increased CD14 expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...

Dynamic parameter identification method for wireless charging system of AUV based on multi-strategy nonlinear rime algorithm

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The magnetic coupling wireless charging system may experience changes in mutual inductance and load due to the impact of actual underwater environment, which would lower the system’s transmission efficiency. In response to the circumstance, firstly, this

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.
