A plant Bro1 domain protein BRAF regulates multivesicular body biogenesis and membrane protein homeostasis

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Plant development, defense, and many physiological processes rely on the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) machinery to control the homeostasis of membrane proteins by selective vacuolar degradation.

The Phospholipid Bis(monoacylglycero)Phosphate Confers Antitumour Immunogenicity to Exosomes Secreted by Dendrogenin A, Which Activates Its Biosynthesis in Tumour Cells

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
Dendrogenin A stimulates, via LXRβ, the expression and activity of enzymes responsible for the biosynthesis of the phospholipid BMP. BMP is a key determinant of the antitumour immunogenicity of exosomes secreted by DDA‐treated melanoma and triple‐negative breast cancer cells and enhances mouse survival and anti‐PD‐1 therapy in melanoma.

Mean-semivariance behavior: An alternative behavioral model [PDF]

open access: yes
The most widely-used measure of an asset's risk, beta, stems from an equilibrium in which investors display mean-variance behavior. This behavioral criterion assumes that portfolio risk is measured by the variance (or standard deviation) of returns ...

Separation Methods Affect Glycan Patterns in Extracellular Vesicle Preparations From Canine Osteoblasts and Osteosarcoma Cells

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanosized, membrane‐enclosed particles released by cells, facilitating intercellular communication via the transfer of bioactive molecules from producing to recipient cells. EVs are involved in several physiological and pathological processes, including cancer progression.

Origin of the Magnetization Anisotropy of Superparamagnetic Beads

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 9, 12 February 2026.
Superparamagnetic beads are widely employed to study the mechanics of biomolecules with magnetic tweezers. It is shown that the residual anisotropy of the beads is due to averaging over a finite number of randomly oriented nanoparticles contained in the beads. Pinning of the anisotropic beads in the field causes low and high‐frequency noise in magnetic

QTL evolution under natural infection using a F2 Scavina-6 x ICS1 population for witches'broom resistance in Bahia, Brazil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Studies to determine the genetic bases to witches´ broom resistance were being carried out in order to identify different genetic sources of resistance and to improve the efficiency of selection using molecular markers.

Vulnerability of marine megafauna to global at‐sea anthropogenic threats

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Marine megafauna species are affected by a wide range of anthropogenic threats. To evaluate the risk of such threats, species’ vulnerability to each threat must first be determined. We build on the existing threats classification scheme and ranking system of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened ...

First case report of a vertebral osteomyelitis caused by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacter cloacae treated with imipenem/cilastatin/relebactam prolonged infusion then meropenem/vaborbactam in continuous infusion

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
IntroductionBone and joint infections (BJIs) caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria are becoming more frequent. However, data on the use of novel β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitors, such as imipenem/cilastatin/relebactam (I-R) and meropenem/vaborbactam (MVB)

Comparative In Vitro Activity of Ceftazidime-Avibactam, Imipenem-Relebactam, and Meropenem-Vaborbactam against Carbapenem-Resistant Clinical Isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesAntibiotics
Co-infection with carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) is associated with poor outcomes and historically relied on combination therapy with toxic agents for management.
