Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) are immature myeloid cells with immunomodulatory function. To study the mechanism by which MDSC affect antimicrobial immunity, we infected mice with two M.

Tuberculosis in cattle caused by IS901+ Mycobacterium avium subsp. avium ? a case report [PDF]
In small cattle herd an eight-year-old cow showed a reaction to bovine tuberculin in two consecutive skin tests. The animal showing clinical signs related to tuberculin was slaughtered for diagnostic purpose. The lungs were completely coverred with disseminate tubercles of different sizes and the mediastinal lymph nodes were enlarged.

ABSTRACT Mycobacteriophage Mcgavigan could be a promising candidate for use as a preventative agent against infections with Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis. Bioinformatic analysis of the Mcgavigan genome revealed the presence of an operon containing a “Bxb1‐like” repressor.

Marked Differences in Mucosal Immune Responses Induced in Ileal versus Jejunal Peyer's Patches to Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis Secreted Proteins following Targeted Enteric Infection in Young Calves. [PDF]
In cattle, Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis infection is primarily mediated through M cells overlying Peyer's patches (PP) in the ileum. The capacity of M. avium subsp.

Epigenetic Modifications Influence Reproductive Traits in Small Ruminants
The epigenome undergoes dynamic changes shaped by the intricate interplay of genetic and environmental factors, which are crucial for individual growth and development. Recent studies suggest that factors such as nutrition, thermal stress (TS), infections, and assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) can influence epigenetic changes in small ruminants

Description of a Novel Adhesin ofMycobacterium aviumSubsp.paratuberculosis [PDF]
The binding and ingestion ofMycobacterium aviumsubsp.paratuberculosis(MAP) by host cells are fibronectin (FN) dependent. In several species of mycobacteria, a specific family of proteins allows the attachment and internalization of these bacteria by epithelial cells through interaction with FN.
