Limited Risk of Microbial Contamination During Hypothermic and Normothermic Machine Perfusion of Donor Kidneys

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
Machine perfusion is increasingly used to preserve donor kidneys. Theoretically, machine perfusion poses as a risk of contamination. We investigated perfusion samples. Our findings show that even though contamination of the perfusate does occur, this did not lead to infectious complications in the recipients.

LC/ESI-MS analysis of underivatized amino acids and mass spectrum [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We report the method of LC/ESI-MS analysis of underivatized amino acids with corresponding mass spectrum and fragmentation patterns. Diagnostic product ions determined by mass spectrometry can support the qualitative identification and quantitative estimation of individual amino acids. Therefore, the optimization of chromatographic separation using the

Mycophenolic acid concentrations in peripheral blood mononuclear cells are associated with the incidence of rejection in renal transplant recipients

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2018
Although therapeutic drug monitoring of plasma mycophenolic acid (MPA) concentrations has been recommended to individualize dosage in transplant recipients, little is known regarding lymphocyte concentrations of MPA, where MPA inhibits inosine ...

Knowledge and Adherence to Lifestyle Habits to Prevent Complications Associated With Immunosuppression in Kidney Transplant Recipients: A Single‐Center Survey

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
We performed a survey on lifestyle habits aimed at reducing the risks associated with immunosuppression in kidney transplant recipients. We found gaps in dental hygiene, sunscreen use, vaccination, and consumption of high‐risk foods. Cultural and economic factors influenced adherence.

Correlations of Amino Acids with Secondary Structure Types: Connection with Amino Acid Structure [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
The correlations of primary and secondary structures were analyzed using proteins with known structure from Protein Data Bank. The correlation values of amino acid type and the eight secondary structure types at distant position were calculated for distances between -25 and 25.

Myosteatosis as a New Risk Factor of Surgical Complications in Kidney Transplant Recipients: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 16, Issue 3, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Computed tomography (CT) scan–defined myosteatosis is a common feature in ESKD patients receiving kidney transplantation (KT) and is associated with mortality after KT. We aimed to explore the impact of myosteatosis and other CT scan based morphometric data on the occurrence of early surgical complications after KT.

Development of an HPLC method using relative molar sensitivity for the measurement of blood concentrations of nine pharmaceutical compounds

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Health Care and Sciences
We developed a reliable high-performance liquid chromatographic analysis method using a relative molar sensitivity (RMS) technique that does not require an authentic, identical reference analyte material to quantify blood serum carbamazepine, phenytoin ...

In vitro dissolution kinetic for mycophenolic acid derivatives tablets

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2013
Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) and mycophenolate sodium (MPS) are an ester and a salt of mycophenolic acid. They have different kinetic in vivo characteristics due to differences in molecular structures, physicochemical properties and formulations ...

Precision Monitoring of Immunosuppressive Agent Concentrations in Cardiac Tissue of Pediatric Heart Transplant Recipients

open access: yesPediatric Transplantation, Volume 29, Issue 4, June 2025.
Cardiac allograft tissue concentrations of tacrolimus and mycophenolate acid are correlated with blood levels, whereas those of everolimus showed no correlation. Further, the tissue perfusion efficiencies of tacrolimus and everolimus decreased with age.
