Programmed Host Cell Death and Infectious Process of Mycoplasma [PDF]
A common characteristic of Mycoplasma diseases is their chronicity, Mycoplasma spp. infection have been frequently associated with upper respiratory infections, chronic lung disease , asthma, meningeal encephalitis, mastitis, arthritis, heart problems ...

Minimalistic mycoplasmas harbor different functional toxin-antitoxin systems [PDF]
Mycoplasmas are minute bacteria controlled by very small genomes ranging from 0.6 to 1.4 Mbp. They encompass several important medical and veterinary pathogens that are often associated with a wide range of chronic diseases.

Serum Resistance of Mycoplasma agalactiae Strains and Mutants Bearing Different Lipoprotein Profiles
In order to spread systemically, resistance against complement and other factors present in serum is an important trait in pathogenic bacteria. The variable proteins of Mycoplasma agalactiae (Vpmas) have been shown to affect differential adhesion ...

Taxonomy of the Feline Mycoplasmas Mycoplasma felifaucium, Mycoplasma feliminutum, Mycoplasma felis, Mycoplasma gateae, Mycoplasma leocaptivus, Mycoplasma leopharyngis, and Mycoplasma simbae by 16S rRNA Gene Sequence Comparisons [PDF]
The nucleotide sequence of the 16S rRNA gene of eight mycoplasmas isolated from felids was determined and used for taxonomic comparisons. A signature nucleotide sequence motif and overall sequence similarity to other mollicutes positioned Mycoplasma felifaucium, Mycoplasma felis, Mycoplasma leocaptivus, Mycoplasma leopharyngis, and Mycoplasma simbae in

Phylogenetic Relationships of the Porcine Mycoplasmas Mycoplasma hyosynoviae and Mycoplasma hyopharyngis [PDF]
The phylogenetic positions of the porcine mycoplasmas Mycoplasma hyosynoviae and Mycoplasma hyopharyngis were determined by using PCR-amplified 16S rRNA gene sequences. M. hyosynoviae is a member of the Mycoplasma hominis group, while M. hyopharyngis belongs to the Mycoplasma fermentans group of mollicutes.

Sequences of the 16S rRNA genes and phylogeny of the goat mycoplasmas Mycoplasma adleri, Mycoplasma auris, Mycoplasma cottewii and Mycoplasma yeatsii [PDF]
The nucleotide sequences of the 16S rRNA genes from the type strains of four goat mycoplasmas, Mycoplasma adleri, Mycoplasma auris, Mycoplasma cottewii and Mycoplasma yeatsii, were determined by direct solid-phase DNA sequencing. Polymorphisms were found in two of the 16S rRNA gene sequences, showing the existence of two different rRNA operons.

MYCOPLASMAS ISOLATED FROM RUMINANTS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA BETWEEN 1995 AND 2015 [PDF]
This study provides an overview of mycoplasma species isolated from ruminants in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1995 and 2015. A total of 1442 samples from affected and asymptomatic cattle, sheep and goats were submitted for isolation of mycoplasmas ...

Mycoplasma agalactiae: The Sole Cause of Classical Contagious Agalactia?
Contagious agalactia (CA) is suspected when small ruminants show all or several of the following clinical signs: mastitis, arthritis, keratoconjunctivitis and occasionally abortion. It is confirmed following mycoplasma isolation or detection.
