Objective: To detect the value of cardiac MR imaging in assessment of left ventricle diastolic function in patients with ischemic heart disease compared to echocardiography and to correlate the degree of dysfunction to the extent of myocardial scarring ...

Immunosuppressive Drug Use in Limited Systemic Sclerosis: An International Survey
Objective Current guidelines recommend immunosuppressive treatment for diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis but are less clear on their use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) in the absence of internal organ complications. We conducted an international survey to understand current immunosuppressive drug prescribing patterns in lcSSc ...

[Myocardial dysfunction in sepsis].
Myocardial dysfunction appears in 25% of patients with severe sepsis and in 50% of patients with septic shock, even in the presence of hyper dynamic states. It is characterized by a reduction in left ventricle ejection fraction, that reverts at the seventh to tenth day of evolution.

Myocardial Dysfunction in Severe Falciparum Malaria [PDF]
Severe malaria causes multiorgan dysfunction, which is the predominant reason for mortality in these children. Cardiac enzymes have been elevated and cardiac involvement has been suspected in some of these children, however, clear cut echocardiographic evidence for it was not possible. There were isolated reports of myocardial dysfunction in malaria in

Objective JAK inhibitors (JAKis) have shown promising effects in early‐phase studies of SSc. We aimed to assess the safety and explore effectiveness of JAKis compared to conventional immunosuppressants in SSc. Methods A longitudinal retrospective study of the EUSTAR cohort was performed.

Pathophysiology of sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction [PDF]
Sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction is a common complication in septic patients and is associated with increased mortality. In the clinical setting, it was once believed that myocardial dysfunction was not a major pathological process in the septic patients, at least in part, due to the unavailability of suitable clinical markers to assess intrinsic ...

We measure the cell‐specific responses of administering infusible ECM (iECM) in acute myocardial infarction (MI) across multiple timepoints. Using single‐nucleus RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, we measure macrophage activation, fibroblast remodeling, increased vascular development, lymphangiogenesis, cardioprotection, and neurogenesis ...

Background Although myocardial dysfunction in the context of longstanding steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (NS) has been the focus of many series, the detection of myocardial involvement in recent-onset NS has not taken sufficient attention.

Taxonomy of segmental myocardial systolic dysfunction [PDF]
The terms used to describe different states of myocardial health and disease are poorly defined. Imprecision and inconsistency in nomenclature can lead to difficulty in interpreting and applying trial outcomes to clinical practice. In particular, the terms 'viable' and 'hibernating' are commonly applied interchangeably and incorrectly to myocardium ...
