Synchronous Surgical Therapy for Bilateral Multiple Pulmonary Nodules: A Single‐Center Analysis of 108 Cases

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 11, June 2026.
The study included 108 patients admitted to Peking University Third Hospital from January 2015 to December 2025. The most common surgical combination was wedge resection + wedge resection (44.4%). The mean postoperative hospital stay was 6.55 ± 3.03 days. Severe complications Less than 5%. No 30‐day mortality or unplanned secondary surgery.

Computational Modeling Meets 3D Bioprinting: Emerging Synergies in Cardiovascular Disease Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 17, 8 May 2026.
Emerging advances in three‐dimensional bioprinting and computational modeling are reshaping cardiovascular (CV) research by enabling more realistic, patient‐specific tissue platforms. This review surveys cutting‐edge approaches that merge biomimetic CV constructs with computational simulations to overcome the limitations of traditional models, improve ...

Nanomicelle‐Based Multi‐mRNA Delivery Promotes Cardiac Repair After Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
Five reparative factors identified during myocardial recovery after treatment with extracellular vesicles derived from human iPS cell‐derived cardiomyocytes were combined into an mRNA cocktail and delivered to infarcted hearts using polyplex nanomicelles.

Glucose variability and mode of anaesthesia in major noncardiac surgery (GlucoVITAL): study protocol for a randomised controlled trial

open access: yesBJA Open
Background: Hyperglycaemia after noncardiac surgery occurs commonly and is associated with complications. The choice of maintenance anaesthesia may promote hyperglycaemia and increase glucose variability, both of which exacerbate inflammation and organ ...

The Impact of Adjuvant Radiotherapy Combined With Targeted or Immunotherapy on the Heart in Breast Cancer

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 10, May 2026.
Adjuvant radiotherapy combined with targeted or immunotherapy in breast cancer is associated with delayed and dose‐dependent cardiotoxicity. Long‐term monitoring, cardiac dose optimization, and integrated biomarker–radiomics strategies are essential to mitigate cardiovascular risk while preserving oncologic efficacy.

Myocardial oxygen consumption, myocardial efficiency, and mechanical efficiency: A review across pathologic and physiologic states

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, May 2026.
Abstract Myocardial work and oxygen consumption (MVO2) are tightly coupled. The patient's physiological state, presence of disease, heart rate, and microvascular control of oxygen delivery all combine to maintain this relationship. The myocardial efficiency (MyoEff) of the heart is determined by the ratio of stroke‐work (SW) divided by MVO2, whereas ...

Incidence and risk factors of postoperative acute myocardial injury in noncardiac patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
IntroductionPostoperative myocardial injury after noncardiac surgery is common and is associated with short- and long-term morbidity and mortality. However, the incidence and risk factors for postoperative acute myocardial injury (POAMI) are currently ...
