Abstract P5-07-13: MicroRNA-mediated restoration of tamoxifen sensitivity in triple negative breast cancer through modulation of estrogen receptor alpha/beta ratio using Myrothamnus flabellifolius

Cancer Research, 2018
Abstract Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) represents approximately 20% of all breast cancer cases worldwide. Prognosis for this subtype of cancer is especially dire due to the absence of Estrogen (ER), Progesterone and Human Epidermal Growth Factor receptors, usually targeted by neoadjuvant therapies like Tamoxifen.

Protection mechanisms against excess light in Myrothamnus flabellifolius (Welw.)

2000
The effects of light stress during drying on excised twigs of the homoiochlorophyllous resurrection plant Myrothamnus flabellifoius, was examined in this study. Leaves were prevented from folding during drying and plants were dried in the light, and as a control, in the dark. The effects on the photoprotection mechanisms were assessed.

Towards an understanding of the mechanisms of desiccation tolerance in Myrothamnus flabellifolius (WELW.)

1998
To date, most of the studies on the homoiochlorophyllous desiccation-tolerant (HDT) plant Myrothamnus flabellifolius have been conducted on excised twigs or leaves. In this study drying (including prolonged exposure to the dry state), and recovery of whole plants was compared with that of detached twigs dried off the plant, and also with twigs excised ...

Investigating the mechanisms of desiccation tolerance in the resurrection plant, myrothamnus flabellifolius (WELW)

1999
Resurrection plants, including Myrothamnus flabellifolius, grow in shallow soil upon rocky outcrops where they experience regular periods of water stress. Associated with this is light stress. The presence of light under water limiting conditions can result in photo-oxidation which causes damage to plant tissues.

Benefit sharing and environmental sustainability in policy and practice: the commercialisation of the resurrection bush (Myrothamnus flabellifolius) in Southern Africa

2019
The trade of non-timber forest products (NTFPs), also known as biotrade, has existed for hundreds of years - as has the traditional knowledge associated with such products. More recently, this form of trade has advanced to include genetic resource components found within natural resources (bioprospecting).
