Periodic orbits for 3 and 4 co-orbital bodies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the natural families of periodic orbits associated with the equilibrium configurations of the the planar restricted 1 + n body problem for the case 2 « n « 4 equal mass satellites.

Central configurations for planar 3n-body problem: triple nested regular polygons

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2018
We study the existence of some families of triple nested planar central configurations for the n-body problem with n=9, 12. For 9-body problem we show that there exist three families of triple nested triangular central configurations. For 12-body problem

Computational Structure of the N-Body Problem [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Scientific and Statistical Computing, 1989
Summary: This work considers tree algorithms for the N-body problem where the number of particles is on the order of a million. The main concern of this work is the organization and performance of these computations on parallel computers. This work introduces a formulation of the N-body problem as a set of recursive equations based on a few elementary ...

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

On the n-body problem on surfaces of revolution [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 2018
We explore the $n$-body problem, $n\geq 3,$ on a surface of revolution with a general interaction depending on the pairwise geodesic distance. Using the geometric methods of classical mechanics we determine a large set of properties. In particular, we show that Saari's conjecture fails on surfaces of revolution admitting a geodesic circle.

How phagocytic cells kill bacteria: Lessons from a professional killer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
How phagocytic cells ingest and kill bacteria has been studied for more than a century, but many questions remain unanswered. The study of the amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum brings new answers, and new questions. Professional phagocytic cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, as well as free‐living soil amoebae like Dictyostelium discoideum, employ

MEGASIM: Distribution and Detection of Earth Trojan Asteroids

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Using N -body simulation results from the MEGASIM data set, we present spatial distributions of Earth Trojan Asteroids and assess the detectability of the population in current and next-generation ground-based astronomical surveys.

Adjacent Zero Communication Parallel Cloud Computing Method and Its System for N-Body Problem with Short-Range Interaction Domain Decomposition

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, 2016
Although parallel computing is used in the existing numerical solutions of N-body problem, tons of communications between N particles render the parallel efficiency extremely low.
