Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Solar sail dynamics in the three-body problem: homoclinic paths of points and orbits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we consider the orbital previous termdynamicsnext term of a previous termsolar sailnext term in the Earth-Sun circular restricted three-body problem. The equations of motion of the previous termsailnext term are given by a set of non-linear

From the N-body problem to Euler equations [PDF]

open access: yesRussian Journal of Mathematical Physics, 2017
This paper contains a rigorous mathematical example of direct derivation of the system of Euler hydrodynamic equations from Hamiltonian equations for N point particle system as N tends to infinity. Direct means that the following standard tools are not used in the proof: stochastic dynamics, thermodynamics, Boltzmann kinetic equations, correlation ...

The therapeutic opportunities and pitfalls of using iron ion chelators to treat neurodegenerative diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Although too much iron in the brain promotes neurodegeneration, iron ion chelators have had mixed effects in clinical trials. This review explains why; some chelators do not render the iron redox‐inactive (e.g., L1) whereas others do (e.g., desferrioxamine).

The quantum marginal problem for symmetric states: applications to variational optimization, nonlocality and self-testing

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
In this paper, we present a method to solve the quantum marginal problem for symmetric d -level systems. The method is built upon an efficient semi-definite program that uses the compatibility conditions of an m -body reduced density with a global n ...

The sine-Gordon solitons as an N-body problem [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1993
We consider the N-soliton solutions in the sine-Gordon model as a N-body problem. This leads to a relativistic generalization of the Calogero model first introduced by Ruijsenaars. We show that the fundamental Poisson bracket of the Lax matrix is quadratic, and the $r$-matrix is a dynamical one.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Single‐cell DNA methylation profiling: Technologies, computation, and applications in precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...
