The N-formyl-L-tryptophan-chymotrypsin complex in solution
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1970Abstract A high-resolution proton magnetic resonance study of the reversible complex formed between N-formyl- L -tryptophan and the proteolytic enzyme α-chymotrypsin has been carried out.The data indicate that the signals from the aromatic protons of the inhibitor are shifted upfield considerably in the enzyme-inhibitor complex but that the vinyl,

Phosphorylase-catalyzed N-formyl-α-glucosaminylation of maltooligosaccharides
Carbohydrate Research, 2010This paper describes the phosphorylase-catalyzed enzymatic N-formyl-alpha-glucosaminylation of maltooligosaccharides for direct incorporation of 2-deoxy-2-formamido-alpha-D-glucopyranose units into maltooligosaccharides. When the reaction of 2-deoxy-2-formamido-alpha-D-glucopyranose-1-phosphate (GlcNF-1-P) as the glycosyl donor and maltotetraose as a ...

The role of N-formyl-methionyl-sRNA in protein biosynthesis
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1966Bacterial sRNA has been fractionated into two methionine-accepting species, only one of which could be formylated. The binding of each charged species to ribosomes under the direction of a variety of trinucleoside diphosphates has been studied. The codeword AUG could be assigned to both species, whereas the related trinucleoside diphosphates GUG and ...

Nucleotide Sequence of N-Formyl-methionyl-transfer RNA
Nature, 1968N-Formyl-methionyl-transfer RNA is thought to be the chain-initiating tRNA of protein synthesis in bacterial systems. The complete nucleotide sequence of this tRNA from Escherichia coli has now been worked out.

The synthesis and mutagenicity of the N-formyl analog of N-hydroxyphenacetin
Carcinogenesis, 1983The synthesis and purification of N-hydroxy-N-formyl-p-phenetidine (N-OH-FP) is described. This new compound was subjected to mutagenicity testing using Salmonella typhimurium strains TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537 and TA1538 both in the presence and absence of the post-mitochondrial fraction of rat liver homogenate.

Synthesis and Stereodynamics of N-Formyl-1,2,3- Selenadiazolopyridines
Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2012Abstract The 4,6-diaryl-6,7-dihydro-[1,2,3]selenadiazolo[5,4-c]pyridine-5(4H)-carbalde hydes were synthesized from 2,6-diarylpiperidin-4-ones and characterized using infrared, 1H, 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and mass spectroscopic techniques. On the NMR time scale, the compounds exist in syn and anti isomeric forms.

Synthesis of N-formyl dihydropyrazoles as urease inhibitors
Pure and Applied ChemistryAbstract In this study dihydropyrazole based derivatives were synthesized from substituted chalcone through Michael addition reaction. Urease inhibition activity of the compounds was evaluated, revealing that most compounds exhibited moderate inhibition. Among the synthesized compounds, 2b, 2m, and 2n demonstrated
