Micro‐Galvanic Coupling Programs the Therapeutic Zinc Ion Window to Reconfigure Immune Cascades for Pro‐Regenerative Bone Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilized alloy micro‐galvanic coupling design to regulate the release of essential elements, thereby programming immune responses and promoting regeneration. The sacrificial anodic process of Zn‐0.8Mg reduced Zn2+ release compared to the “large cathode‐small anode” coupling of Zn‐0.8Fe.

Pericentrosomal Redistribution of the Endoplasmic Reticulum Ensures Organelle Symmetric Inheritance and Mitotic Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Upon mitotic entry, RTN4 relocalizes to the pericentrosomal region, forming a more tubular ER network around centrosomes. CDK1‐mediated phosphorylation of RTN4 increases its interaction with Rab11 GTPase, facilitating dynein‐dependent transport of RTN4 to the pericentrosomal region.

Trade-Offs in modeled phosphorus acquisition strategies and the marine N2 fixation paradox

open access: yes, 2011
Marine N2 fixation is known to be energetically expensive and limited by Fe and P. Slow growing N2 fixers should have a competitive advantage only when N limits primary production and thus should out-compete non-fixing phytoplankton in N-limited ...

Neuron‐Derived MIF Engages VCAM1 to Fuel a Self‐Amplifying CXCL8 Loop That Drives Perineural Invasion and Metastasis in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuron‐derived MIF binds VCAM1 on gastric cancer cells and activates ERK/STAT3 signaling, leading to CXCL8 transcription and secretion. Tumor‐derived CXCL8 subsequently stimulates neuronal CXCR2 to enhance MIF production, establishing a self‐amplifying MIF–VCAM1–CXCL8 positive‐feedback loop that promotes perineural invasion, tumor progression, and ...

Spatio-temporal variations of N2 fixation rates and abundance of N2-fixers in the north Western Pacific

open access: yes, 2009
The availability of nitrogen is important in regulating biological productivity and deepwater nitrate has long been considered the major source of new nitrogen supporting primary production in oligotrophic regions of the open ocean.

Carboxylate‐Driven Metal Pre‑Fixation COF@MOF Synthesis: Enabling Tailored Structural, Dimensional, and Defect Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A universal metal pre‐fixation (MPF) strategy directs the precise crystallization of diverse metal‐organic frameworks (Co‐MOF, ZIF‐8, Fe‐MOF, UIO‐66) on covalent organic framework (PY‐COF) scaffolds. The resulting hierarchical hybrids exhibit tunable porosity, structural defective and dimensional, as well as enhanced performance in CH4/C2H6/C3H8 ...

Biomimetic Macrophage Cell Membrane‐Based Nanoparticles for Effective Treatment of Glioblastoma Through Boron Neutron Capture Therapy Combined With Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains largely incurable due to the blood‐brain barrier (BBB) and immunosuppressive microenvironment. While boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) selectively eradicates tumor cells via 10B(n, α)‐7Li reactions, its clinical potential in GBM is unrealized because of the suboptimal pharmacokinetics of conventional ...
