Direct femtosecond laser writing of nanochannels by carbon allotrope transformation [PDF]

open access: yes
Existing approaches for creating durable nanochannels are complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Here, a novel approach is presented in which a femtosecond laser is used to directly write optically accessible nanochannels with arbitrary lengths.

MXene–MOF Hybrid Nanocomposites: Emerging Platforms for Sustainable Wastewater Treatment

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
This review presents MXene–MOF hybrid materials for advanced water purification. By integrating the high conductivity and hydrophilicity of MXenes with the tunable porosity of MOFs, these hybrids demonstrate superior performance in adsorption, photocatalysis, and electrochemical degradation.

A Generalized Automated Framework for Thermal Characterization: From Bulk Materials to Complex Heterostructures

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 37, 2 July 2026.
An automated MATLAB framework for inverse photoacoustic analysis enables precise thermal characterization of complex multilayer films. Application to electrodeposited CuxSe reveals a stoichiometry‐dependent thermal conductivity governed by lattice anharmonicity, not grain‐size scattering, in these superionic materials. ABSTRACT Precise determination of

Electrolyte Engineering in Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries: From Solvation Chemistry to Interface Stabilization

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
This review summarizes recent progress in electrolyte engineering for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. It focuses on solvation chemistry regulation and interfacial stabilization. Strategies including solvent regulation, electrolyte salt, functional additives, and composite electrolytes are discussed. These approaches help suppress side reactions and improve

Sandwich‐Structured Covalent Organic Framework as a Proton Exchange Membrane

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
A sandwich‐structured covalent organic framework membrane, with a TpSB‐(SO3H)2 layer confined between TpBD‐(SO3H)2 layers, delivers high proton conductivity and markedly reduced humidity dependence. The layered design improves water retention and dimensional stability, enabling superior proton transport under intermediate‐to‐low humidity at 100°C and ...
