Nanopatterns with Biological Functions [PDF]
Both curiosity and a desire for efficiency have advanced our ability to manipulate materials with great precision on the micrometer and, more recently, on the nanometer scale. Certainly, the semiconductor and integrated circuit industry has put the pressure on scientist and engineers to develop better and faster nanofabrication techniques. Furthermore,

Liquids on Topologically Nanopatterned Surfaces [PDF]
We report here surface x-ray scattering studies of the adsorption of simple hydrocarbon liquid films on nanostructured surfaces-silicon patterned by an array of nanocavities. Two different regimes, filling and growing, are observed for the wetting film evolution as a function of the chemical potential offset from the bulk liquid-vapor coexistence.

This work introduces a swelling‐induced, stress‐assisted water‐soluble PVA tape strategy to transfer‐print nanodiamond quantum‐sensor arrays onto soft, curved biological interfaces. The room‐temperature, water‐triggered process achieves >98% fidelity and residue‐free integration, enabling conformal quantum sensing on contact lenses, neural probes, and ...

Predictive Registry Optimization of Molecular Adsorbates on Solid Surfaces
Local C–H “spikes” from a π‐conjugated backbone lock into graphene “pockets”. A geometric registry score turns images obtained by scanning tunneling microscopy at the solid/liquid interface into atomic‐scale adsorption models, enabling assignment of surface atropisomers in large π‐conjugated molecules.

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...
