Surface plasma influence on nanosecond laser ablation
Applied Optics, 2019The comparison of laser ablation and plasma evolution has been carried out for a molten steel sample in the absence and in the presence of surface plasma. A continuous wave (cw) laser beam was utilized for local melting of a steel (Fe>99 wt.%) sample, but it also induced a surface plasma according to optical emission spectroscopy.

NANOSECOND PULSES FROM A HYDROGEN FLUORIDE LASER
Infrared Physics, 1976Abstract A simple experimental setup for generating hydrogen fluoride laser pulses in the range from 25 to 3 nsec is presented. Dependence of pulse width and peak power upon laser gas pressure and mixture is discussed. Some details about the spectral resolved time behaviour of the multiline pulses (2.6–3.0μm) are given.

Nanosecond and picosecond laser desorption of C60
Synthetic Metals, 1996Abstract Laser desorption of C 60 using nanosecond and picosecond laser pulses has been investigated. The velocity distributions of the desorbed ions were determined by means of time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Optical emission spectroscopy was used to determine the internal energy of the desorbed species.
